At McGuigan’s School of BJJ, we believe Jiu-Jitsu is more than a martial art- it’s a path of growth. Rooted in the principles of leverage, balance, and technique, our school is built on the idea that progress on the mats mirrors progress in life. Through consistent training, students learn resilience, focus, humility, and the quiet confidence that comes from facing challenges with patience and discipline.
Founded by black belt and two-time British open gold medallist, Declan McGuigan, our school blends traditional Jiu-Jitsu values with a modern, welcoming approach. Whether someone is stepping onto the mats for the first time or continuing a long journey, our aim is always the same: to help them grow stronger in body, sharper in mind, and steadier in character.
Our new Mini and Junior Roller programmes reflect this ethos- nurturing early foundations, encouraging natural curiosity, and guiding each student at a pace that feels right for them. Every class is shaped by respect, connection, and a genuine love for the art.
McGuigan’s School of BJJ isn’t just a place to train.
It’s a place to learn, to grow, and to build strong roots for all ages.
